Dear MPA members,
Members of the Malaysian Paediatric Association may be interested to know that as of Friday October 16th 2020 full text Cochrane reviews on the Cochrane Library can now be accessed from any computer anywhere in Malaysia. This has been made available by the Ministry of Health.
Members who wish to access Cochrane reviews should go to https://www.cochranelibrary.com/ and use the search or browse functions. For those who would like to know more about Cochrane select the ‘About Cochrane’ tab. Those who would like to know more about how to use the Cochrane Library select the ‘Help’ tab where a number of training options can be found, including presentations, a user guide and videoclips on various aspects of using the Cochrane Library.
If there are sufficient members who would like to have training specifically on understanding and interpreting Cochrane evidence, the Cochrane Trainers here at Cochrane Malaysia would be happy to run a webinar.
If there are members who are interested in getting involved in authoring Cochrane reviews we are holding a 3-day workshop here at RSCI & UCD Malaysia Campus from 17-19 November. This workshop has limited places but there are still places available. Please refer to https://malaysia.cochrane.org/news/cochrane-review-workshops
There are other ways to contribute to Cochrane besides authoring. If members are interested please refer to https://www.cochrane.org/ and select the ‘Join Cochrane’ tab. A number of volunteers from around the country are active in translating Cochrane Plain Language Summaries into Bahasa Malaysia. Judging by the access statistics this has proven to be highly successful venture. Volunteer translation is another option for getting involved.
Cochrane Malaysia thanks the Ministry of Health for this provision. We hope that through this we will all be able to make evidence-informed healthcare decisions for the children of Malaysia.
If anyone has any queries please do not hesitate to contact me. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
